Privacy Policy

MoBot is an educational robotics platform made by Techmology (Algiers, Algeria). This policy explains what the MoBot mobile app collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the app, and we never sell your data.

1. Who we are

The MoBot app and connected services are operated by Techmology, Algiers, Algeria (“MoBot”, “we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request you can reach us at support@techmology.dz.

2. Information we collect

Account information

You sign in with Google. When you do, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with the app. We exchange your Google sign-in token with our authentication service (auth.mobot.dz) to create and secure your MoBot account. We do not receive or store your Google password.

On-device data

Your MoBot session tokens are stored locally on your device so you stay signed in. They are kept in the app's private storage and are not shared with third parties.

Bluetooth and nearby devices

MoBot uses Bluetooth to discover and connect to your MoBot robot. Bluetooth is used solely to find and control your device — it is not used to determine your location, and we do not collect or store any location information.

On Android 11 and older, the operating system requires the “Location” permission before an app is allowed to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices. We request it only on those older versions and only for Bluetooth scanning. On Android 12 and newer we use the dedicated “Nearby devices” permission instead, declared as never used for location.

Notifications

With your permission, the app shows notifications about the status of your robot connection (for example, while a connection stays active in the background). You can turn these off in your device settings at any time.

3. How we use your information

• To create your account, sign you in, and keep your session secure.
• To connect the app to your MoBot robot over Bluetooth.
• To save your preferences and progress within the app.
• To respond to your support requests.

We do not use your data for advertising, and the app contains no third-party ad networks.

4. How your information is shared

We share data only where it is necessary to run the service:

• Google — sign-in is provided by Google. Their use of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
• MoBot authentication service (auth.mobot.dz) — verifies your sign-in and issues your account tokens.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep your account information for as long as your MoBot account is active. You can request deletion of your account and the personal data associated with it at any time by emailing support@techmology.dz from your account email address. On-device data (such as session tokens) is removed when you sign out or uninstall the app.

6. Children's privacy

MoBot is an educational product often used by children. We do not knowingly collect more personal information from a child than is needed for the app to work, and the app shows no advertising. We recommend that a parent or teacher set up the account and supervise younger users. If you believe a child has provided us personal data without appropriate consent, contact us at support@techmology.dz and we will delete it.

7. Security

Connections between the app and our services use encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) transport, and account tokens are stored in the app's private, sandboxed storage on your device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to stop processing it. To make a request, email support@techmology.dz.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
